We accept referrals from
Any qualified health or education professional can refer a client to Haven OT. Self-referrals and parent-initiated referrals are also welcome.
Psychologists & Counsellors
Referring clients for OT support alongside mental health treatment — including sensory processing, daily living, and co-occurring developmental needs.
Speech Pathologists
Collaborating with us on paediatric clients where fine motor, sensory, or feeding challenges overlap with communication goals.
Physiotherapists
Referring clients where occupational performance, assistive technology, home modifications, or functional capacity reporting is needed.
GPs & Paediatricians
Referring children or adults for developmental assessments, functional evaluations, or OT-specific support as part of a broader care plan.
Schools & Teachers
Referring students who may benefit from OT support with handwriting, sensory needs, classroom participation, or school re-entry planning.
Parents & Carers
Self-referrals from parents or carers are always welcome. No formal referral letter is required — just complete the intake form below.

For children and young people up to 17 years. Covers early childhood, paediatric OT, school advocacy, and parent coaching referrals.

Does the client need an NDIS plan to be referred?
No. Haven OT accepts clients who are privately funded, NDIS plan-managed, self-managed, or who have not yet engaged with NDIS at all. You can refer without confirming funding first — we'll discuss options with the client directly.
How quickly will my referral be actioned?
We aim to review and respond to all referrals within 2 business days. If the referral is urgent, please call us directly on 0420 443 747 and we will prioritise accordingly.
Will I receive updates on the client after referring?
With the client's consent, we're happy to share updates or copies of reports with the referring practitioner. Please note this in your referral or contact us to discuss collaborative care arrangements.
Can I refer a client who is on a waitlist elsewhere?
Yes — clients can be referred to multiple providers simultaneously. Submit the referral and we'll let you know current availability. Telehealth clients often have shorter wait times.
What age groups do you accept referrals for?
We accept referrals for clients across the lifespan — from infants and toddlers through to adults. Service availability may vary depending on age group and the type of support needed. Contact us if you're unsure.
Do you accept telehealth referrals from outside my state?
Yes. Haven OT provides telehealth services Australia-wide. You can refer clients regardless of their location within Australia.
Can I refer for a report or assessment only?
Absolutely. We accept referrals for standalone functional capacity assessments, NDIS access or review reports, school-based reports, and other OT documentation. Note this clearly in the referral form under the reason for referral.
