Every person deserves to live life fully.
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages overcome the barriers that get in the way of doing the things they love — from play and school to independence and work.
Helping people do the things that matter most
Occupational therapists focus on occupation — not as in jobs, but as the full range of activities that give our lives meaning. Everything we want, need, or have to do: playing, learning, working, caring for ourselves, connecting with others.
When illness, injury, disability, or developmental differences make those things difficult, an OT steps in. We assess what's getting in the way, then build a practical, personalised plan to overcome those barriers and restore independence.
For children, occupations are play, learning and self-care. For adults, they include work, relationships and daily living. Wherever the challenge lies, OT meets you there.
"We started Haven because every family deserves access to high-quality, compassionate occupational therapy — wherever they are, whatever their journey looks like."— Casey-Lee & Izaacc, Co-Founders of Haven OT
Built on the belief that everyone can thrive
Haven Occupational Therapy was founded with a simple but powerful belief: barriers to participation shouldn't be barriers to a full life. Whether it's a child struggling at school, a teenager navigating social challenges, or an adult seeking greater independence — we exist to help.
We take a holistic, client-centred approach. That means we listen first, understand deeply, then craft therapy plans that are as unique as the people we work with. We don't just treat challenges — we build strengths.
-
Empowerment We equip clients with skills and confidence to own their therapy journey.
-
Purpose We help every person discover what lights them up and build towards it.
-
Self-Discovery Therapy is a journey of understanding — who you are, what you need, and how to flourish.
-
Accessibility Quality OT should be available to everyone — clinic, home, or via telehealth.
What drives everything we do
Our values aren't words on a wall — they're the principles that guide every session, every plan, and every interaction with the families we serve.
Empowerment
We believe every client has the capacity to grow. Our role is to provide the tools, knowledge, and encouragement so you feel genuinely in control of your journey — not just a passenger in it.
Purpose
A life with purpose is a life worth living. We help children and adults alike discover what brings them joy, then build the skills to pursue it — turning "I can't" into "watch me."
Self-Discovery
Therapy at its best is a journey inward. We partner with you to understand your unique strengths, needs, and communication style — equipping you to advocate for yourself in every area of life.

Occupational therapists focus on occupation — anything we want, need, or have to do that contributes to our health and wellbeing. For children, primary occupations include play, self-care, and learning. For adults, they extend to work, relationships, and community participation.
Our OTs identify the barriers your child or you face and overcome them with evidence-based, client-centred interventions tailored to your unique situation.
OT is beneficial across a wide range of conditions and challenges — developmental delays, sensory processing differences, physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, mental health challenges, and more. Whether you're a parent concerned about your child's development, or an adult seeking greater independence, our holistic approach enhances daily functioning and overall quality of life.
In most cases, no referral is needed to access OT services privately. However, if you are accessing services through the NDIS, you will need an active NDIS plan. Some Medicare or health insurance pathways may require a GP referral — your insurer can advise on this. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll guide you through the process.
Most sessions run 45–60 minutes. Your initial assessment may take longer as we take the time to understand your full history and goals. Subsequent sessions focus on targeted interventions and progress review. We'll work with you to find session lengths that suit your schedule and maximise progress.
Your first session is an initial assessment. We'll spend time getting to know you or your child — your strengths, challenges, daily routines, and what you'd most like to achieve. We may carry out some informal observations or structured assessments. You'll leave with a clear understanding of the next steps and a therapy plan tailored to your goals.
Yes — telehealth is a core part of how we work at Haven OT. We use secure, easy-to-use online platforms so you can access high-quality OT support from home, school, or wherever is most convenient. Telehealth sessions maintain the same level of care and personalisation as in-person visits, and are available across Australia.
This varies widely depending on your goals, challenges, and how quickly you progress. Some clients achieve their goals in 6–8 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We'll always be transparent about where you're at and what we recommend — you're never locked in, and we celebrate every milestone along the way.
