Gold Coast paediatric occupational therapy for school and home.
Local, experienced support for Gold Coast families — in-home visits and telehealth, working with your child, with you, and with their school, so nothing falls on you alone.
Experienced, evidence-based, genuinely personal
We built Haven to be the kind of OT practice we'd want for our own kids — here's what that looks like in practice.
Holistic approach
We treat the whole child, not just the symptom in front of us.
Experienced clinicians
Years of hands-on paediatric experience, not a graduate caseload.
Neuroaffirming
Evidence-based, child-centred approaches that respect neurodiversity.
Personalised care
Every child gets a plan built around them, never a template.
Local & flexible
In-home visits across the Gold Coast, or telehealth — your call.
“I started Haven because too many families were being rushed through a system that didn't have time to actually know their child. I wanted to build the practice I'd want for my own family.”
— Casey Lee, Founder & Lead Occupational TherapistDoes this sound familiar?
It's 7:45am. Shoes are half on, the bag isn't packed, and somebody is already in tears. If mornings like this feel like the norm rather than the exception, here's what we hear most from Gold Coast parents:
If you're reading this at the end of another hard day, you are not failing your child. You're just carrying a lot on your own.
When a child struggles at school, it's almost never about effort or attitude. There's usually a real, practical reason underneath, and once you can see it, you can do something about it. That's the work we do with Gold Coast families every week: name what's actually going on, then build a plan you can use, so the load stops sitting on you alone.
Three steps, no overwhelm
Book a free 15-minute call
A short, no-cost chat with an experienced OT about what's happening at home and at school. No pressure, no obligation to go further.
We build a plan together
We shape a plan around your child's goals and your funding, so you know exactly what happens next and what you're paying for.
Support where you live
In-home visits across the Gold Coast, or telehealth if that suits your family better — support lands where the challenges actually are.
How we work with your child's school, not around it
A lot of therapy sits outside the school gate: your child does an hour in a clinic, then goes back to a teacher who never hears what was worked on. We work differently, so the support reaches the six hours a day your child is actually in class.
Understand your child
How they learn, what tips them over, what already works on a good day.
Write the support plan
Plain language a teacher can pick up and use, not a report that gets filed.
Brief the teacher
In person or by video, so distance and time off work aren't a barrier.
Review and adjust
We keep the plan current as your child changes, term after term.
“A parent with a plan beats an hour a week of anything.”
— Casey Lee, Founder & Lead Occupational TherapistWhat you walk away with
- A clear plan you understand and can follow at home, not a folder of jargon.
- Home strategies for the specific moments that go wrong in your house.
- Someone local in your corner who knows your child and answers your questions.
Support for the everyday things that feel hard
School readiness & transitions
Kindy to prep, prep to grade one, primary into high school — planned before it arrives.
School refusal support
We work out what sits underneath the refusal, then build small steps back to the classroom.
Executive functioning
Planning, memory, focus and getting started, so homework stops being a nightly standoff.
Handwriting & fine motor skills
Grip, letter formation and the hand strength that writing depends on.
Everyday independence
Toileting, showering, dressing and simple cooking — skills that lighten your daily load.
Emotional regulation
Naming big feelings and learning to ride them out with tools your child can reach for.
Sensory processing
Understanding what's too loud, bright or overwhelming, and building days that work with it.
Parent coaching & home plans
Strategies and a home therapy plan you can actually run, every day of the week.
Proudly servicing Gold Coast families
Because Casey is local, sessions can happen in your home, in the places your child actually needs support, not just in a clinic room across town. Prefer telehealth instead? That's available too, with the same 1:1 attention.
Not sure if we cover your street? Ask on your free 15-minute call and we'll give you a straight answer, along with a telehealth option if in-home isn't available in your area yet.
What Gold Coast families say
Local experience, and the time to actually know your child
Casey has more than seven years of clinical experience and has supported over 350 families. She started Haven because she wanted to work the way she believed OT should be done: with time, with families, and without treating a child as a referral to move through a caseload.
- She listens first, then builds a plan around your child, not a template.
- She's local to the Gold Coast, and works closely with schools across the region.
- She's honest about what OT can and cannot do for your family.
Clear on funding, before you commit
We'd rather be straight with you now than surprise you later.
NDIS
Self-managed and plan-managed plans are both welcome. We support paediatric goals under your child's plan, and help you use the funding well.
Medicare
A GP Chronic Disease Management plan typically covers up to 5 sessions per year. We help you make those sessions count.
Private
No referral needed. If you'd rather not wait on paperwork, you can start this week.
Good questions, honest answers
