Why clients choose Haven

Experienced, evidence-based, genuinely personal

We built Haven to be the kind of OT practice we'd trust for ourselves — here's what that looks like in practice.

Holistic approach

We treat the whole person, not just the symptom in front of us.

Experienced clinicians

Years of hands-on adult experience, not a graduate caseload.

Neuroaffirming

Evidence-based approaches that respect neurodiversity and autonomy.

Personalised care

Every client gets a plan built around them, never a template.

Local & flexible

In-home visits across the Gold Coast, or telehealth — your call.

Why Haven exists

“I started Haven because too many adults were being handed generic programs instead of a plan that respected their actual capacity and autonomy. I wanted to build the practice I'd trust for myself.”

— Casey Lee, Founder & Lead Occupational Therapist
For Gold Coast adults

Does this sound familiar?

It's 6pm on a weeknight. The dishes are still in the sink, three messages are unanswered, and you have nothing left to give the rest of the evening. If that's a familiar feeling, here's what we hear most from Gold Coast adults:

You're exhausted by the end of most days, and it takes longer and longer to recover.
Everyday tasks — bills, cooking, appointments — pile up faster than you can face them.
Sensory overload in shops, workplaces or social settings leaves you needing days to recover.
You've been told to "just push through," and it's never actually helped.
Routines fall apart the moment life gets even a little unpredictable.
You want more independence, but don't know where to start, or who to trust.

If you're reading this after another exhausting week, you're not lazy, and you're not broken. Your system is working overtime just to get through an average day.

We use what we call the water-glass method: understand how full your glass already is before adding anything new. Once we know your actual capacity, we build routines and strategies that fit inside it, instead of piling on more things to manage. That's the work we do with Gold Coast adults every week, practical, respectful, and built around the life you actually have.

Talk it through, no pressure A short, honest call — free, no obligation.
How it works

Three steps, no overwhelm

1

Book a free 15-minute call

A short, no-cost chat with an experienced OT about what's actually getting in your way. No pressure, no obligation to go further.

2

We build a plan together

We shape a plan around your goals, your capacity and your funding, so you know exactly what happens next and why.

3

Support where you live

In-home visits across the Gold Coast, or telehealth if that suits you better — support lands where your life actually happens.

Our core method

The water-glass method

Most advice tells you to add more: more routines, more strategies, more effort. If your glass is already full, that just tips it over. We start by understanding how much capacity you actually have before we add anything.

  • Map your capacity

What's already filling your glass, and what tips it over on a hard day.

  • Protect what's working

We don't touch routines that already work, we build around them.

  • Add in small, real steps

Strategies sized to fit the room you actually have left.

  • Review and adjust

We keep the plan current as your capacity and goals change.

“You can't pour from a glass that's already full — we help you understand what's in yours.”

— Casey Lee, Founder & Lead Occupational Therapist

What you walk away with

Because Casey is local, sessions can happen in your home, in the places you actually need support, not just in a clinic room across town. Prefer telehealth instead? That's available too, with the same 1:1 attention.

1:1Every single session

Casey has more than seven years of clinical experience and has supported over 350 clients. She started Haven because she wanted to work the way she believed OT should be done: with time, with respect for your autonomy, and without treating you as a referral to move through a caseload.

  • She listens first, then builds a plan around you, not a template.
  • She's local to the Gold Coast, and understands the demands of everyday life here.
  • She's honest about what OT can and cannot do for you.
Funding

Clear on funding, before you commit

We'd rather be straight with you now than surprise you later.

NDIS

Self-managed and plan-managed plans are both welcome. We support psychosocial and capacity-building goals under your plan, and help you use the funding well.

Medicare

A GP Chronic Disease Management plan typically covers up to 5 sessions per year. We help you make those sessions count.

Private

No referral needed. If you'd rather not wait on paperwork, you can start this week.

Not sure where you fit? That's one of the most common questions we hear — ask on your free 15-minute call and we'll walk you through it in plain English.
Questions Gold Coast clients ask

Good questions, honest answers

Yes — we offer in-home visits across the Gold Coast, as well as telehealth for clients who prefer it or live a little further out.

Not for private appointments, you can start straight away. Medicare needs a GP Chronic Disease Management plan. NDIS self- and plan-managed are both welcome.

No. You don't need a formal diagnosis to start. If something is making daily life harder than it should be, that's reason enough to have a conversation.

Not at all. We support NDIS participants, Medicare clients under a GP plan, and private clients with no funding involved.

A GP Chronic Disease Management plan typically covers up to 5 sessions per year. We'll walk you through fees clearly on your call so there are no surprises.

We have capacity for ongoing clients right now. Book the free call and we'll talk through next steps and timing.

It depends entirely on your goals, but it always starts with understanding your real capacity before adding anything new, using our water-glass method.
