Building strong foundations in the early years
The first seven years are the most critical for development. Our early childhood programs use play-based, family-centred approaches to identify challenges early and set children up for lifelong success.
- Developmental milestone assessment and monitoring
- Fine and gross motor skill development
- Sensory processing and regulation support
- School readiness and transition planning
- Communication and social skill development
- Family coaching and home strategy programs
Helping children thrive in everyday life
Our paediatric OT services focus on building the skills children need to participate fully in daily activities — at home, at school, and in the community. We meet each child where they are and create meaningful, goal-driven therapy plans.
- Fine motor skills — handwriting, cutting, self-care tasks
- Gross motor skills — balance, coordination, physical play
- Sensory processing and sensory diet development
- Social participation and peer interaction strategies
- Adaptive equipment assessment and prescription
- Functional capacity assessments for NDIS
Nurturing emotional wellbeing at every age
Mental health is central to how we engage with the world. Our occupational therapists take a whole-person approach — understanding how mental health affects daily functioning and building practical strategies that create real, lasting change.
- Emotional regulation and coping strategy development
- Anxiety, depression, and stress management support
- Daily routine and structure for mental wellbeing
- Functional capacity assessments for mental health NDIS plans
- Trauma-informed and neuroaffirming practice
- Support for carers and family members
Empowering parents to support their children
You know your child better than anyone. Our parent coaching sessions equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to carry therapy goals into everyday home life — so progress happens every day, not just in sessions.
- Understanding Autism, ADHD, and other diagnoses
- Practical home strategies tailored to your child's needs
- Positive behaviour support and regulation techniques
- Sensory diet development for home implementation
- Supporting school transitions and daily routines
- Building parent confidence and reducing carer burnout
Making school work for your child
Every child deserves to access education in a way that works for them. Our school advocacy service bridges the gap between therapy and the classroom — working closely with teachers, principals, and support staff to ensure the right adjustments and supports are in place.
- Reasonable adjustment planning and documentation
- Disability Access Plans (DAP) and support plans
- Classroom environment and sensory assessments
- Teacher and school staff consultations
- IEP (Individual Education Plan) contributions
- Transition support — kindy, primary, high school
Clear, thorough reports that open doors
An accurate, well-written OT report can unlock NDIS funding, secure school support, and give other professionals the insights they need to help your child or family. Our team produces comprehensive reports that are clear, evidence-based, and outcome-focused.
- NDIS access request reports
- NDIS plan review and functional capacity assessments
- School support and educational adjustment reports
- Personalised support plans (formerly behaviour management plans)
- Sensory processing and motor skills assessment reports
- Medical and allied health referral reports

Common questions about our services
Who do you work with?
We work with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of needs — including developmental delays, Autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, mental health challenges, fine and gross motor difficulties, school participation, and daily living skills.
Do I need an NDIS plan to access services?
No. We support clients who are NDIS-funded, plan-managed, or privately funded. You don't need NDIS funding to work with Haven OT — we welcome all clients regardless of funding type.
How do telehealth sessions work?
Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure video call platform. All you need is a device with a camera and a stable internet connection. Our therapists have extensive experience delivering engaging, effective therapy entirely via telehealth — for both children and adults.
What is the difference between an OT and an Allied Health Assistant?
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a fully registered clinician who conducts assessments, creates therapy plans, and leads your care. An Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works under OT supervision to implement those plans — providing more frequent, cost-effective sessions that help build skills faster through regular practice.
How long will therapy take?
This depends entirely on your goals, needs, and starting point. Some clients achieve their goals in a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. We review progress regularly and adapt your plan so that every session is purposeful and driving real outcomes.
Can you write reports for NDIS access or plan reviews?
Yes. Our team writes comprehensive OT reports for NDIS access requests, plan reviews, functional capacity assessments, school support, and more. We understand what the NDIS requires and write reports that clearly communicate your needs and goals.
Do you offer school-based or home-visit services?
Yes. In addition to telehealth, we offer school-based therapy and home visit services in select areas. Contact us to find out what's available in your location — or whether telehealth could work just as well for your needs.
